Well. These temp. files take up spaces for running a specific program which could be used for other data or program. And hence affects in running another program smoothly. These files slow down your computer and make it difficult to work. Sometimes it can even be hard to perform basic operations.

Temporary files like internet history, cookies, and caches take up a ton of space on your hard disk. And when the hard disk is full, it may misbehave resulting your computer run slowly.

Hence, deleting them frees up valuable space on your hard disk and speeds up your computer.

How to delete temporary files in Windows then?

There are various ways to delete temporary files in windows. You simply can go to run dialog box and then type 'temp' or '%temp%' or 'prefetch'. This will list all the temp files in your computer. Then delete  them permanently simply by pressing SHIFT+DEL key.

Follow these steps:

1.  Click on Start menu.
2.  Open run dialog box (desktop app).
3.  Type 'temp' in the run command. Or you can also type '%temp%'.
4.  Select all of them.
5.  Press SHIFT+DEL key.

This will delete all of the temp files of your computer. You can also repeat the same process using the keywords '%temp%' or 'prefetch' in order to delete all the temporary files in your pc to make run your computer faster and smoothly.

Note: Give preference to %temp% if you have not deleted temp. files for a long time.
